Why the Road less traveled is your ticket to bliss
Why the Road less traveled is your ticket to bliss

There’s always a strong temptation to follow the crowd, as it’s easier to walk a path that’s already laid out. However, taking the road less traveled can feel daunting, which is why it’s often avoided. I grew up in a society that viewed this path as risky. Parents had predefined plans for their children, and deviating from that was considered rebellious.

Despite advice from loved ones urging me to follow the well-trodden path, I chose the narrow road, one different from the majority. This mindset would shape my journey and ultimately lead me to start blogging about personal development.

At the time, blogging was gaining momentum in Nigeria. Successful bloggers like Linda Ikeji and Bella Naija had inspired a wave of new bloggers to jump on the trend. Many felt that the key to success was to focus on popular topics that appealed to Nigerians. Niche blogging was far less common.

Ignoring the noise and the pressure to follow the mainstream, I decided to blog about personal development, highlighting the uniqueness of every individual. My goal was to show people that they could make a difference in the world without needing fame or public attention to inspire others.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Marianne Williamson

OVER TO YOU

Taking the road less traveled may come with its challenges, but the long-term rewards are undeniable.

By choosing this path, I’ve connected with incredible friends and joined inspiring communities like the Aha Now Community and the PAC community, which have taken my blogging journey to new heights.

Along the way, I realized that my mind had been holding me back, convincing me that I couldn’t make an impact. But the truth is, taking action is what creates real change.

Now, I’m actively shaping my life, defining my values, and making a difference. I’m currently participating in a blogging challenge, and if you’re interested in joining, simply click the banner below.
