I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Psalm 139:14 (KJV)
Such sweet inspiring words should make you leap for Joy. Unfortunately, even though we have had these words said over and over again, its not reflecting in our lives. People are still struggling with feelings such as not being smart, beautiful, intelligent and popular.
It might look as if we don’t believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We certainly do believe.
However, I see that most people don’t understand what it means to be fearfully and wonderfully made and wear themselves out physically and mentally.
So today lets look at the 4 Myths and you will notice that although these myths are intended to help you but they cause a lot of stress and challenges.
You Have To Be on TopÂ
This is the first myth. You must be at the top. Everyone wants to be the best; You want to be counted among the top list. You have heard the message told times without number that God wants you to be at the top. These has made a lot of people seem lost when they are not at the top. They question their existence and purpose.
I am not discouraging you from being the best but  your very existence has nothing to do with being the best. It’s about creating value and making an impact with your God- given talent to your community and  to the world; it’s not about the top.
You have to be Popular
It’s sad that we desire popularity so much that we shun others who we feel are less important. We are wired into believing that you are special only if you are popular which is why people will go at any length to be famous.
You don’t have to be popular to feel special; You don’t have to be a celebrity. You are special and unique, that’s just who you are.
People must validate you
Is it not odd to live your life based on what others feel or think about you? That’s how most people go through life. You cherish the moment when people admire you and you feel rejected when people avoid you because you are not cool or you are not like every other person; you don’t have the right clothes, too fat, not athletic, not smart, too thin or too hippy,
You must love and accept yourself. God loves you not because of what you have but who you are? When you don’t put pressure on yourself, you will appreciate who you are and will not judge others; you will interact with your peers in love
You spend half of your time trying to fit and the other half trying to stand out. Â
This is a quote from Nick Vujicic and its worth thinking about.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made and it’s not because of what you have done, It’s what you were created to be. It’s who you are; You are a light to the World.
